Arm and Leg Aesthetics: Everything You Need to Know
It’s possible to get rid of sagging and disproportionate arms and legs.
Success in Arm and Leg Aesthetics
Rapid and significant changes in your weight can lead to sagging skin and a striated appearance in your arms and legs. In addition to these conditions, you may consider aesthetic operations such as arm-thigh lifting, fat injection, liposuction, or calf prosthesis to address problems in your arms and legs resulting from genetic asymmetry or various disorders.
How is Leg Aesthetics Done?
Legs are evaluated in two sections: thighs from the knee up and calves from the knee down. Problems in the upper part of the legs are usually sagging and stretch marks due to excessive weight or sudden weight changes. Lower problems are more related to hereditary conditions such as deformity or thinness. The treatment to be applied may vary according to complaints and the area. Your doctor will determine the most appropriate treatment after a detailed evaluation following the examination.
The most commonly performed treatments in the upper part are lipolysis and liposuction. These treatments generally include the hip and waist areas as well. If there is sagging present, thigh lifting operations may also be considered. It is important to follow your doctor’s recommendations for the pre- and post-leg aesthetic process.
How is Arm Aesthetics Done?
Sudden weight changes cause the skin to lose its elasticity, sag, and develop stretch marks. These skin and fat masses also have an unpleasant appearance. If your skin has not yet lost its elasticity, lipolysis and liposuction treatments are highly effective in slimming the arms. If sagging and stretch marks are present, an arm lifting operation will be beneficial. This surgery is performed under general anesthesia, during which the tissue causing the sagging appearance on the inside of your arm is removed. This way, you will achieve thinner arms, and with approximately 5 days of recovery, you can return to your daily life with underarm aesthetics.
Is Fat Removal Possible from the Arms?
Excess fat in the arm area is perhaps one of the most complained about issues. Arm fat can occur due to reasons such as diet, lifestyle, and excessive weight gain. Those who undergo arm aesthetics are generally individuals with such complaints. Aesthetic surgery can be chosen to address this issue of excess fat in the arms.
Arm fat removal uses vacuum technique, where the fats are broken down and removed from the area. Although general anesthesia is more commonly preferred, the surgery can also be performed under local anesthesia. In arm fat removal surgery, unwanted fats in the arm area are suctioned out using a vacuum or special syringes. After the desired level of fat removal is achieved before the operation, the skin in the area is tightened again.
How is Thigh Lifting Done?
Thigh lifting surgery is performed to address sagging above the knee. The operation is carried out under general anaesthesia. Sagging and stretch mark tissues are removed through an incision made in the groin area. For more effective results, it is recommended to combine the procedure with liposuction. You can return to your daily activities 10 days after the surgery.
What is Crooked Leg Aesthetics?
In some individuals, we may observe curvature in the legs due to various reasons. This curvature, known as bow legs, can lead to complaints.
For individuals presenting with bow leg complaints, two different techniques can be suggested. In individuals with sufficient fat in the abdomen or waist area, liposuction can be performed in these areas, and the extracted fat can be injected into the affected area to correct the curvature. If there is not enough fat available, correction can be achieved through filler injections. If fillers are to be used, the procedure can be performed under local anesthesia. However, if fat injection is to be performed, general anesthesia is preferred.
To address the issue of gaps in the legs due to excessive thinness, filler application can be used. This improves the appearance of the legs. This procedure takes approximately 1 hour and is performed under local anaesthesia.
What is Calf Prosthesis?
If the area below the knee is much thinner compared to the rest of the leg, silicone implants are placed on the back of the calf muscles with this method to achieve a thicker leg appearance. Since the prosthesis is inserted through a 3-centimeter incision behind the knee, there is no visibility or sensation from the outside. The operation is performed under general anaesthesia, and you can return to your daily life after one week.
Thinness and/or curvature in the calf area can be due to genetics or may develop later in life. Women who have been unable to comfortably wear what they want for a long time due to these issues have found happiness in their lives after undergoing liposuction, calf prosthesis, or fat injection surgeries that suit their condition.
How is Non-Surgical Arm Aesthetics Done?
An alternative to arm aesthetics is non-surgical arm lifting. In non-surgical arm aesthetics, anaesthesia and sedation can be applied. During the procedure, excess skin is removed from the inner and back areas of the arm. Excess fat tissue in the arm can also be removed. In some cases, patients may undergo liposuction (fat removal) as well.
What is Non-Surgical Leg Filling?
Non-surgical leg filling involves the injection of entirely natural filler substances into the legs. This procedure, which does not require anaesthesia, can address asymmetry or postural irregularities in the legs.
What is Arm Lifting Aesthetics (Arm Slimming Aesthetics)?
In the upper part of the arm, sagging may occur due to rapid weight changes or surgeries such as gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, resulting in a loose appearance. This condition can cause discomfort in the appearance of the arm. Arm lifting aesthetics can be a solution in such cases. The lifting surgery can be performed alone or in conjunction with liposuction. Typically lasting 1-2 hours, anaesthesia is administered during this procedure. After the surgery, a scar extending towards the armpit area and the inner side of the arm may appear, but this scar fades within 3-6 months. You may need to wear a corset for a while after arm slimming aesthetics.
Leg Slimming Aesthetics
Complaints about leg appearance are often due to thick and fatty leg structure. With the advancement of technology, aesthetic surgeries can provide solutions to many complaints. Leg slimming aesthetics can be a solution for individuals who are not satisfied with the appearance of their legs, such as leg thickness.
Leg slimming aesthetics can be performed on patients with thick, cellulite-prone, and fatty leg structures. The leg slimming operation takes approximately 1-2 hours. After the surgery, patients are fitted with a corset from the ankle to the waist. Regular follow-up is important for the success of the surgery.
Leg slimming aesthetics is not recommended at a young age when development is not yet complete. Shortly after leg aesthetics, a healthy and fit appearance can be achieved.
Arm and leg aesthetic procedures can help individuals achieve their desired aesthetic goals and enhance their confidence and self-image. It’s important for individuals considering these procedures to consult with a qualified plastic surgeon or cosmetic dermatologist to discuss their options and develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to their needs and objectives.
