Clear Vision, Bright Horizon: Your Journey to Optimal Eye Health
Treatments for Eye Health and Diseases we offer:
Intravitreal Anti-Vegf Applications
Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) is a significant growth factor and may play a key role in the development of eye diseases. Anti-VEGF agents can be used to treat retinopathy and certain other eye conditions. The application involves the direct administration of Anti-VEGF drugs into the vitreous, the fluid-gel portion inside the eye (intravitreal).
Argon Laser Photocoagulation Applications
Argon laser photocoagulation applications, which can be preferred for eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and intraocular haemorrhages associated with diabetes, preserve the existing visual quality and eliminate leakage. By using high-energy argon laser, small burns are created in the retina region where blood vessels are located.
Optical Coherence Tomography (Oct) Applications
For diseases related to parts of the eye such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and optic nerve, glaucoma, choroid, retina, the structural condition of the eye needs to be examined in detail. OCT (optical coherence tomography) imaging is used for this purpose, enabling the sensitive visualization and measurement of the retina layer of the eye using low-energy laser beams.
Nerve Fibre Analyzer (Nfa) Applications
Also known as nerve fibre analysis, the NFA test is preferred for obtaining measurements necessary for the treatment process of glaucoma. With this test, the thickness of nerve fibres is measured. The findings obtained can be evaluated together with OCT images.
Lasik Treatment Lasik, an abbreviation for Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis, involves reshaping the cornea with laser. It is a frequently preferred method for correcting refractive errors. With this method, myopia up to 12 degrees, hypermetropia up to 6 degrees, and astigmatism can be treated. Patients to undergo treatment should have appropriate eye structure, be over 18 years of age, and have stable eye numbers within the last year.
Vitreoretinal Surgery
Procedures performed to remove the vitreous, the fluid-gel substance located in the back of the eye, and to treat defects in the retina with surgical operations are called vitreoretinal surgery. Vitrectomy is the most common of these procedures.
Oculoplastic Surgery
Procedures performed to change the appearance of the eye area in the desired direction fall within the scope of oculoplastic surgery. Through these methods, problems such as asymmetric deformities, under-eye bags, wrinkles, and sagging in the eyes can be treated, achieving a younger and smoother appearance in the eye area.
Phaco Method
The phaco method is a technique used in cataract surgery. With this technique, the eye lens is separated from other layers using a special fluid called viscoelastic gel, without causing any damage to the eye, through an approximately 2-millimeter incision made into the eye.
Eyelid Aesthetics (Blepharoplasty)
Eyelid aesthetics procedures are used to correct congenital size differences in the eyelids and sagging caused by aging and gravity. Also known as blepharoplasty, these procedures provide a more pleasant and youthful appearance in the eyes.
Tumour Surgeries
Tumours can occur in many parts of the body, including the eyes. Although the majority of tumours occurring in the eyes are benign, in some cases, tumour surgeries may be necessary. Tumours removed in this way should be sent for pathological examination to determine whether they are benign or malignant.
Orbital Surgery
The orbit is the cavity formed by cranial bones, containing units related to the eye such as the eyeball, optic nerves, muscles, connective tissue. Orbital surgery is utilized in the treatment of diseases such as tumours, inflammation, trauma, and thyroid-related orbitopathies occurring in this region.
Tests For the Eye Health and Diseases:
Dry Eye Tests
Burning, stinging, itching, and feeling like a foreign substance is in the eye are common symptoms of dry eye. Dry eye is a condition that negatively affects eye health and requires the use of artificial tears. Individuals experiencing such complaints undergo dry eye tests to clearly determine if the symptoms are caused by dryness and to shape the treatment plan accordingly.
Colour Vision Tests
The cones located in the retina layer of the eye enable distinguishing colours. In cases where these cones are insufficient due to congenital reasons, it indicates colour blindness. Specialized colour vision tests developed for diagnosing colour blindness are used for diagnosis.
Computerized Visual Field Test
The computerized visual field test, which plays a crucial role in the early diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, allows measurement of the visual field not only at the point focused by the eye but also at the edges, enabling the detection of any abnormalities.
Eye Pressure Measurement
Glaucoma, also known as eye pressure disease, is a serious health problem characterized by the eye pressure being above normal levels. Over time, the disease can lead to damage to the optic nerves and ultimately vision loss. Therefore, eye pressure measurement should be performed in patients presenting with complaints suggestive of the disease at eye clinics.
Corneal Thickness Measurements (Pachymetry)
Corneal thickness can be a factor affecting eye pressure. Thicker than the required 500 microns in healthy individuals, corneal thickness can lead to falsely elevated eye pressure measurements, while thinner thickness can cause low eye pressure. Therefore, corneal thickness measurements should be examined when eye pressure measurements are above or below normal.
Optical Biometry Measurements
Optical biometry devices used to measure the lenses to be implanted into the eye during cataract surgeries are of great importance for these operations. Additionally, precise and accurate optical biometry measurements made with these devices allow patients to have the opportunity to be free of glasses after surgery.
Eye Ultrasonography Measurements
Ultrasound imaging of the eye is used in many conditions related to eye health, especially traumatic problems. Using ultrasonic sound waves, problems in parts of the eye that cannot be seen from the outside can be easily detected, and factors such as the dimensions of the eyeball, corneal thickness, and the area covered by vitreous fluid can be evaluated.
If you have any health problems requiring treatment related to your eye health or if you wish to undergo a general examination, feel free to contact us.
By regularly undergoing eye examinations, you can ensure the early detection of possible diseases, thereby preventing the formation of permanent damage related to vision.
