Geographical Coverage

This policy is valid only for treatments related to complications of surgeries/procedures and medical treatments performed in Turkey after the policy start date, provided that the treatments are carried out within the borders of the Republic of Turkey.

Inpatient Treatment Coverage:

Medical complications arising after surgeries, procedures, and medical interventions performed on the insured in a healthcare institution accredited for Health Tourism within the borders of Turkey are covered under this policy, subject to the coverage limits and rates specified in the policy and certificate for treatments indicated in the policy plans. Displeasure arising from personal preferences in aesthetic surgeries and dental treatments is not covered under this policy. Coverage is applicable only for the surgery or procedure specified in the policy, and complications arising from medical treatments or procedures outside the relevant policy plan are excluded from coverage. Expenses required for revision surgery or procedure to treat complications are covered, while rehabilitation and physiotherapy expenses that may be required after surgery/procedure are not covered. Tests and medications required for medical procedures are also covered under this policy. Diagnostic procedures performed beyond standard pre-operative tests required for medical intervention and medications unrelated to the surgery are not covered. Supportive treatments (such as intravenous infusions, supportive medication treatments, blood sugar, and blood pressure regulation) before and after both the initial surgery and revision surgery/procedure, as well as additional examinations and follow-up tests planned/required for other health issues unrelated to the surgery, are not covered under this policy.

Airfare Coverage:

In the event that the insured requires treatment for a complication arising from a treatment performed in Turkey or revision surgery, the cost of an economy class airfare from their home country to Turkey will be reimbursed, subject to the specified limit and deductible in the policy. The airfare coverage limit may vary across different plans, so please check your certificate. The coverage is indicated on the certificate and/or policy. The airfare coverage has a deductible of 100 EUR and the maximum coverage amount that can be paid may vary depending on the plan, with the coverage limit specified on the certificate and policy.

Accommodation expenses have a deductible of 200 EUR/2 days for surgical plans and 100 EUR/1 day for other plans, and coverage is applicable after the deductible period specified in the policy. Accommodation coverage for non-medical requirements is optional and not included. The necessity for accommodation is determined by medical reports

Intervention in Home Country Coverage:

This coverage can be optionally selected. Minor interventions and medical treatments related to early complications, such as discharge or infection at the site of medical intervention/surgery upon the insured’s return to their home country, which do not require rehospitalization, are covered under this policy within the limits specified in the policy and certificate. To claim reimbursement for such expenses incurred in their home country, the insured must submit the original medical report, invoices, and bank account information (swift, IBAN) for payment via postal mail. After assessment, payments for expenses covered under the coverage are made to the insured’s bank account within the coverage limits. Transfer swift charges are deducted from the coverage limits in claim payments.

Companion for Patient in the Hospital Expense Coverage:

This can be optionally selected only in Surgical and Cardiovascular Surgery plans. The relevant coverage and limits are not applicable for the initial intervention/surgery to be performed in Turkey. In the event that policy coverage comes into effect during the insured’s secondary intervention, transportation and accommodation expenses for an accompanying escort to Turkey are reimbursed within the coverage limits and deductible as specified in the policy and certificate. Escort expenses on the hospital invoice during the hospital stay are not covered.
